Save your money. Then when I replaced ink it wouldn't print that color. Cost about a dollar a page. Piece of junk and ink runs out quick. Worked fine at first. Then after about 5 pages is said I needed more ink. Tried pulling ink and replacing, said I was out again.
I have fussed with this printer for 2.5 years and I am done with it; well actually it quit on me and I am done with it. Do your research do your research do your research and DON'T buy this printer.Drivers go out all the timeCopier cuts off half the imageFeeder quit workingDoesn't use all the inkDoesn't recognize ink cartridgesUses too much ink
Only one amazing thing it did is copy old photos, making them look unbelievable. Yes, of course, color cartridges do go quickly; but, even the black cartridge wouldn't operate unless all of the others were full. And, that tiny photo viewer is pitiful. Within a very short period of time, the cartridges were empty, and the cost to replace each one was $12.00. merrilyninforesthills This is not what I was told when I purchased this trash.
I'm really angry and am now discarding this. Rather than repeat what the other customers have said negatively, and I tend to agree with them, I must add that the customer support was non-existant. I began to wonder whether some were not full to begin with. I purchased generic cartridges from Amazon; but, either they are empty or won't operate.
After a little less than 1 year with moderate use and maintaining regular maintenance with the Setup/Utilities feature the quality of the printing had deceased as well. I've owned Canon, HP, Brother and never disliked one so much I wanted to replace it before it gave out; but this experience with my Epson has been unpleasant and do not desire to try another one since there are so many alternatives. I've had a lot of printers and have never spent so much money on ink. This printer can be found at low bargain prices, but seems to only remain a bargain for those who seldom print and would not need to purchase frequent ink cartridges.I like some of the features: scanner was easy and provided good photo scans and easy to use.Overall I would probably not even purchase an Epson again.
What did work for a while is replacing ALL the cartridges at the same time no matter how much ink you had left in them, if one is empty you might have to replace them all, all I could think was "what a waste." Now, I don't have any way to print anything, I have to buy another printer, so this time I am going to take the time to search for a new printer, I am blogging, I am asking, I am searching any and every review not just for the "BEST PRINTER" but for the ink as well. I have had work done on it and fixed it many times. ----------- NEVER EVER AGAIN.---------- Oh and by the way, to add to this cost I also purchased a chip resetter a couple of months ago for this printer because I was having the problem with the new cartridges not working with the half full cartridges, yea well, THAT didn't work either. In this 1 year I have averaged out $450.00 in ink and I originally paid $120.00 for the printer (Now, as I think to myself, I could have done a lot better than this had I done some researching first). This I will say, Epson will never get another dime out of me again. I will watch for their name on anything electronic that I purchase from here on out like cameras, video recorders, PRINTERS.
Even if I can't, I still refuse to buy from epson anymore. My old printer lasted 10 years with 2 repairs done to it, this one has been repair after repair and then the problem with the ink, Are these printers made to be disposable. You will see thousands of people teed off about this.Epson says that if you use any other generic ink other than epson inks it will clog your system, that's what I used so after spending all that extra money, whats their excuse for my printer being clogged now. I have managed to own mine for a year. Now it is clogged and the chips are screwed and it is considered dead. I am so mad I could spit bullets.
I am so mad and so disappointed - what am I supposed to do with these ink cartridges now. But, then again, I have to thank my lucky stars because if this Epson Printer would have given me 10 years, I probably would have given epson over $5,000 in that time just on ink alone, imagine the repair cost. I gave this printer 1 star because of its features, it the only good thing about it, all those little buttons and the screen and the usb plug-in along with the SD card slots in front just kinda ~~turned me on~~ but now I am so disgusted with this printer. I recommend to go to Google or Yahoo or what ever search engine you use or just go to ALL of them and type in "EPSON PRINTER REVIEWS MODEL.(and if you know the model your getting, include that in there)". I hope I can find a printer with somewhat the same features too (I kinda got addicted to that part) but a more better name and quality.
